FILA

In 1906, brothers Ettore and Giansevero Fila joined the Giuseppe Regis and Figli di Coggiola wool mill in Biella, Piedmont, Italy. In 1911, the Regis brothers withdrew from the company and the wool mill took the name Fratelli Fila S.p.A. Fila was officially established in 1923. It originally made clothing for the people of the Italian Alps, primarily underwear. In the 1970s it moved into sportswear, with an endorsement deal with tennis player Björn Borg, and the brand became more popular after the transition.

In 1988, Fila changed ownership from Italian chemical company SNIA S.p.A. to Fiat-controlled holding company Gemina, later restructured as Holding di Partecipazioni. In 1991, Fila shifted focus from clothing in Europe to footwear in the US, and completed a buyout of its US license. High-profile sponsorships, including basketball players Grant Hill and Jerry Stackhouse, helped make Fila America’s fastest-growing footwear brand by 1995.

Fast forward to the present day, and FILA is still one of the biggest and most sought after streetwear and sportsbrands in the world. With multiple endorsments and col-labs, such as the latest one with Hailey Bieber, FILA are a dominant part of the picture whatever part of the fashion world you are refering to, either it’s fashion and style itself, streetwear, leisurewear, activewear, sports or footwear.

Elvine

As true Gothenburgians with the harbour, a sense of humour and bad weather in our blood, the city has become the very basis of our existence. The unpredictable weather has pushed us to design solid, functional jackets for a city lifestyle and as inhabitants of Sweden’s second city with a strong worker culture, we feel comfortable in an effortless collection. But best of all is the pleasant atmosphere in Gothenburg, which has made ELVINE an exuberant and welcoming brand for all people.

ELVINE was founded in 2001 by the Swedish street artist Daniel Mänd. He named the company ELVINE in homage to his grandmother Elvine Mänd, a rigorous seamstress from Estonia who fled to Sweden’s second city Gothenburg in the 50’s. Her creative grandson inherited her passion for craftsmanship, genuine quality and a keen eye for detail.

Growing up on the streets in a suburb called Kortedala, Daniel wanted to create something that came entirely from him and Gothenburg’s unrefined street culture, but made in the tradition of his grandmother. ELVINE was born, and has since then offered casual no-nonsense clothes with a touch of smartness and great fit for a relaxed lifestyle in the city. In other words, sophisticated clothes for unsophisticated behaviour that suit sidewalks rather than catwalks.

There is no product like sunglasses as they are so tightly linked with just great times. Summer, after-ski, beach and vacation – either way these products are to be used when the mood is at it’s best with no strings attached. Life is just better with sunglasses on. And we don’t judge either so if you sometimes need them to cover up yesterday – that’s also fine with us. Life is probably better with sunglasses on in these cases as well.

At Bread & Boxers we’re devoted to helping you make an effortless choice. Our durable underwear and T-shirts are made of ultra soft organic cotton and designed for a perfect fit. They come in limited yet timeless colors and styles. All so you can spend less time choosing what to wear, and more time for life.

Sustainability has been at the heart of Bread & Boxers’ business idea since the very beginning. Although we must admit, our motives at the time weren’t purely noble.

One of the company’s founding principles was to make products that last. We were tired of having to constantly refill our drawers because of underwear that lost their shape and wore out after only having been used a couple of times. We questioned why underwear couldn’t be made to the same quality standards as other garments, and last as long.

Now, since the apparel industry is one of the most resource–demanding in the world, and one of the biggest polluters, it so happens that producing clothes that have a long lifespan is also one of the most sustainable things you can do. So our idea of making long-lasting underwear proved to be good not only for our customers, but also for the environment.
